Tanzania's Generation Equality Programme

The United Republic of Tanzania (URT), under the leadership of her excellence President Samia Suluhu Hassan, is undertaking proactive accelerating gender equality through the formation of a multisectoral programme: Tanzania Generation Equality Programme (TGEP) 2021/22 - 2025/26. This programme will be a guide for public, private, and social actors on initiatives under the action area of Economic Justice and Rights.

Our purpose

To enforce economic justice and rights to society

#ACTFOREQUAL#EQUALITY

Global Vision

By 2026, economic justice and rights are guaranteed for women and girls, in all their diversity, including for adolescent girls, as for men and boys.

What needs to change

While 71 percent of the world's population lacks access to social protection, women are particularly disadvantaged in social protection systems, experiencing lower coverage rates and substantially lower benefit levels.
